PAMELA J. DURANTE

Pamela Durante is one of the 317 Certified Interior Designers in the State of New York.  Having spent many years working on luxury hotels she has an impressive and extensive background in the Hospitality and Restaurant industry. Her career continued with noted hotelier Ian Schrager. There she was the Project Manager of all the FF&E for the Royalton and Paramount Hotels. She traveled extensively throughout Europe overseeing the coordination and production of the Furniture, Fabrics, and finishes of the properties while coordinating the design with Philippe Stark's office in Paris.  

 

She has also worked closely with such notable designers as Andre Putman and Steven Sills. Her hotel experience began at the Gotham Hotel on Fifth Avenue and continued with the renovation of the Stanhope Hotel on Fifth Avenue. She later joined the Loew's Hotel Corporation as the Project Coordinator for the renovation of the Regency Hotel on Park Avenue.

 

Drawing from her extensive experience with top designers in the industry, in 1994 Pamela went on to start her own firm where she offers a unique and sophisticated style at Atelier Durante Interior Design, PLLC.

 

Pamela pursues the use of sustainable products whenever possible and has her REGREEN trained certification. She is the past President of The American Society of Interior Designers, New York Metro Chapter serving in 2011/12.  She continues to serve on many Interior Design boards in New York City, is a faculty member at the New York School of Interior Design and strongly advocates to her students and colleagues the advancement of licensure for the Interior Design profession.  Pamela is also a member of The Decorators Club which will be having its 100th year anniversary in 2014.
